The Hilton Salt Lake City Center is centrally located to some of the best dining Salt Lake City has to offer. There are dozens of places to eat within about a one-block walk; more if you wish to venture out a bit.
Tucked just inside the entrance to the Trofi Restaurant. They offer beverages, pre-packaged sandwiches, and pastries from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm daily. Limited seating; participants may also sit in Trofi during lunch when purchasing from Starbucks.
Grab-and-go items will be available from Starbucks this year for SLIG. Offerings such as the Turkey Club Sandwich, Roast Beef with Gouda Sandwich, Turkey Cobb Salad, Chicken Caesar Salad, and Caprese Salad will be available for anywhere from $6-$7.50. Additional items such as chips, beverages, snacks, or candy bars will also be available for purchase if desired. Gluten-free items will be available at Starbucks as well. Seating will be available in Trofi or upstairs in SLIG Central. There will be no lunch kiosks on the 2nd floor this year.
Enjoy a hot breakfast buffet with omelets made to order for $18 (tax and tip included), or order items a la carte from the menu at the price listed.
Trofi at the Hilton will offer a special lunch buffet price of $20 (tax and tip included), for all SLIG participants Monday through Friday of SLIG week and for SLIG Academy participants from Tuesday through Thursday of Academy week. Make sure you are wearing your name badge to take advantage of this offer. This will be open to SLIG participants and their guests only and not open to the public. No need to pre-purchase this year.
Fine Dining in the Hilton
Hilton is home to Spencer’s for Steaks and Chops. One of Salt Lake's oldest steakhouses, this "Best of State" and "Wine Spectator Award of Excellence" restaurant, offers a fine dining experience. Seating is available for groups, in booths, at high tables, and in the bar area for a variety of experiences. They will be offering a daily lunch special during SLIG.
Hilton offers room service from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Hilton Honors Benefits (as of January 2018)
Gold Level members will receive complimentary continental breakfast in Trofi each morning for themselves and up to one additional guest staying in the same room (or bonus points, but not both). Diamond Level members also receive complimentary continental breakfast for themselves and one guest in the same room (plus bonus points). They will additionally have executive level access to the concierge lounge, where a small hot/continental breakfast and hot hors d'oeuvres are served weekdays. The continental breakfast may be upgraded to the full buffet for $8 per person.
The Hilton is within a short walking distance of a variety of restaurants, including Olive Garden, Inferno Cantina, Red Rock Brewing Company, PF Chang’s, Benihana, Market Street Grill, J Wong's Asian Bistro, Siegfried's Delicatessen, and Squatter’s Pub, just to mention a few. You will find everything from sushi to cheesesteaks within a two-block walk.
A Bit Beyond
If you are feeling more adventurous, City Creek Center and The Gateway Mall offer a wide variety of restaurants as well as a food court.
Near Temple Square, restaurants are also located in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building/Lion House Pantry area. Participants may also eat in the Church Office Building cafeteria during lunch; please obtain a visitor pass from the FHL desk before heading over that direction.

Inside or near the Family History Library
Just need a quick bite to eat between your lab and your research? The FHL has a small vending area on the first floor of the library, which offers a variety of frozen and packaged foods. And of course, JB's Restaurant is on the corner near the library, with affordable full breakfast and lunch buffet options.
